  • MicroRAX has CAD files for their products just like makerbeam does, which makes them "open source". (They even CC'd their profile on thingiverse)
    They actually ordered their first extrusion run before Makerbeam put up their kickstarter campaign.

  • My guess would be you give it 5-10v on red, black is gnd, and you get a voltage on white proportional to the load and the voltage on red. Basically, this device acts like a potentiometer.
    Also, it looks like max load before you break the device is 75kg (165lb)
