Hello, Try this stripped down program....
https://makecode.microbit.org/_T2a0oVdRhUcp
This stores the potentiometer value (0-1023) on Pin 0 to a variable and then maps that value to degrees (0-180) and writes that to a servo on Pin 2 of the micro:bit.
Either way! The choice is yours!
Hello, no static mat is required to work with this product, it is pretty durable, I have been programming and building with mine sitting on my couch on carpet and have not seen any ill affects. Same with the components included. In terms of a case, there is not one currently in production, but there are mounting holes on the board and a custom case shouldn't be too difficult to build, depending on your use case.
No tools required!
All of the example code works in Processing 3.0 with the exception of using JavaScript mode in Project 4 which now is in Beta. We are currently updating all screen shots in the book to be correct with 3.0 as well as changing a few descriptions of the IDE. The major changes don't impact the book that much other than having to install a few libraries that are no longer native to the Processing install (Minim and Video).
For my everyday writing I use Google Docs which allows me to freely share and collaborate without the added cost of buying software and it is OS agnostic. For the book I am using MS word which for the most part is dictated by the publisher/ editor. No Starch has a standardized style template they use and applying that to a google doc is pretty much impossible.
Depending on your publisher there will be a designer assigned to your book to do layout, so do not worry about inDesign or layout, though your vision is important since it is your content but every publisher is different.
Thank you and keep your eyes open...
The book itself is not open source, Though it is based off of our instructional materials called Hot Sheets around Processing.
You can find them here
The book will be in ebook format as well.
should include a pointer to windows 8 driver signature disable tutorial.
