  • If it is too pricey, you should definitely try this solution with the Arduino Pro Mini (it uses a <20$ Chinese WiFi router for wireless). The raspberry pi will not beat that.

  • If this solution is too expensive, you could try this solution. The guy managed to send data out of his Arduino with a <20$ Chinese WiFi router.

    It worked for me to send my sensor data to Xively. I suppose two way communication could be achieved if needed.
