  • I have a Big Easy Driver that works great in one direction but won't reverse. Even with very simple code that changes the dir pin to HIGH or LOW doesn't move the motor backward. This code doesn't even get it to turn. (sorry for formatting issue)

    void setup() {
    pinMode(3, OUTPUT);
    pinMode(9, OUTPUT); digitalWrite(3, LOW); //LOW does not run but HIGH runs counter clockwise digitalWrite(9, LOW); }

    void loop() { digitalWrite(9, HIGH); delayMicroseconds(100);
    digitalWrite(9, LOW); delayMicroseconds(100);

    }

  • I have a Big Easy Driver and have been using different codes to get my stepper to move forward but can't get it to move backward. I verified that it wasn't the motor by bypassing the driver and connecting straight to the arduino and it ran both directions just fine. Even codes as simple as setting the dir pin HIGH or LOW and stepping the step pin on a loop doesn't work. Is there another way to test the board to be sure its not defective?

    void setup() {
    pinMode(3, OUTPUT);
    pinMode(9, OUTPUT); digitalWrite(3, LOW); //LOW does not run but HIGH runs counter clockwise digitalWrite(9, LOW); }

    void loop() { digitalWrite(9, HIGH); delayMicroseconds(100);
    digitalWrite(9, LOW); delayMicroseconds(100);

    }
