It can be powered by a single AA battery. 4xAA is going to deliver 6V, which is more than it's rated for. I'd go with 2xAA.
Yes, if I'm reading the Arduino website correctly. The setup is a bit more complicated, akin to configuring a linux device, but once it's setup it can be programmed in a way very similar to the Uno.

Are these difficult to press if you have big fingers? I've tried a similar looking button in the past and I had to push it with my pinky, and it had sharp edges which hurt my lateral nail fold.

Last year I spent 4 hours trying to add something to my cart. At least this year I was able to successfully add 1 thing to my cart in the 3 hours I wasted.
