  • Ignore my previous post. Similar to Malweth, I put in the wrong cap but unlike Malweth's situation my crystal did not oscillate with out the caps.

  • I had the same problem as unebonnevie. Everything worked beauitfully until I sent the "avrdude -p m168 -P COM1 -c ponyser -U lfuse:w:0xe6:m" command. The LED shut off and now any attmept to read or write to the atmega168 with avrdude produces a "AVR device not responding" message. Similar to unebonnevie, it no longer has a valid device signature. It is now 0x000000 and used to be 0x1e9406.
