Hmmmmm … seems placing it in your cart does NOT mean you’ll get it. I managed to grab one early, then went on to shop for a few other items. By the time I got to checkout it was not available anymore. Guess I learned my lesson for next time.

I work in the Ruby on Rails world of web development, and I can tell you it’s nearly ENTIRELY mac based. So there might be some bastions of Windows for development out there, but most folks I know use Macs or Linux.
As for embedded stuff I’ve managed to find solutions in one form or another for nearly everything I have done. Either tools that are cross-platform (Arduino, Eagle, etc.), or cross compilers working through Xcode or Eclipse (AVR programming), or through emulation (TinyOS). It’s a completely capable platform.
