Great stuff, wish they’d provide it in cyan, magenta, and yellow. Then you could mix it to make any color. Also I did get one packet I’d describe as lumpy, wasn’t usable, but the other of the same color (orange) is fine (casting earplugs right now).

Just an update, the sponge has managed to stay wet for 12 hours. Perfect for a day of soldering :)

Also I picked one of these up, great iron. Unfortunately not from sparkfun, shipping to Canada was $50 and I got it locally for $100 with free shipping.

The tip it comes with is a little large for what I need, but good for replacing some large mosfets on a UPS I’m repairing (my weller just didn’t have the power).

The well under the sponge is neat, it keeps the sponge wet much longer.

But ya, Hear are some pics: Hakko

    Anyone interested in internal pics?

Shipping price is a little ridicules if you’re trying to ship it out of the states. Note to sparkfun, if you can make it fit in a 12x12x5-½" (max 20lb) box shipping would only be $35.

    I second that.

BioGlass has nothing to do with implantation.
Standard glass is inert and wont cos rejection.
This tag can be safely implanted as long as you do it right.
It has a vary short read range less then half an inch. So unless the reader was actually touching you they couldn’t get the pascode.

Just wanted to let you know that smart-cards and SIM cards are the same (other then the plastic on the outside and the data stored) so you can combine this with a $3 SIM writer off of eBay.

Hey I’m thinking of buying one, but I’d like to know. How bright is it, I’m thinking of using it on a buggy to show fuel, tack, and speed. So it will be vibrating around in bright sunlight. My question is, will it be legible?
    Thanks.
