Miniature Horse as an Emotional Support Animal

Miniature horses are growing in popularity as pet companions and also as emotional support dog certification or any other animals. There are many horse lovers that love to have this majestic animal around. The only thing that stops them from doing so is the financial factors. However, with a miniature pony, you can get the same satisfaction of having a horse as a companion, but with comparatively fewer expenses.

The miniature horse is also a great support animal, who can also help you with emotional difficulties. People who suffer from emotional difficulties can keep a miniature horse as their supporting companion but only with an emotional support animal letter.

Getting the Emotional Support Animal Letter (ESA Letter)

Before you welcome a miniature horse into your household as an emotional support animal in order to help you with your emotional and mental health difficulties, you should make sure to get an ESA letter for your mini horse.

An emotional support animal letter allows the animal parent to be in the constant company of their pet. This can be in their housing, traveling by air, or in hotel accommodations.

To acquire this letter you will have to consult a mental health specialist, who will assess your emotional and mental state and will deem if you need an emotional support animal. If the mental health specialist approves the need then s/he will prescribe to you a letter with signature and an authorized stamp of the licensed specialist. You can do this process in person or contact ESA letter for housing services online.

What does the ESA Letter do?

The ESA Letter protects your right and needs to be in the constant companionship of your pet animal. Like service animals, which tend to the people with disabilities, emotional support animals (ESAs) tend to the emotional and mental difficulties faced by people.

The emotional support letter which under the Air Carrier Access Act (AACA) of 1986 forbids the airline companies from not allowing the emotional support animals to accompany their companions in the plane cabin. Moreover, the Fair Housing Act (FHA) people in charge of the housing such as apartments or houses cannot deny you the residence on the basis that you have a pet animal with you. The property owners moreover can’t charge extra, such as a pet fee from the people with emotional support animals.

Why a mini horse?

The mini horse normally weighs around 150 to 350 pounds and reaches a height of up to 34 to 38 inches. They are proportionally similar to the normal-sized horses and can live up to 35 years. The long lifespan makes these animals the first choice for companion and service animals.

With the support animal letter, you can travel with your mini horse by air and can occupy any available housing units. Most people, however, don’t bother the mini horse parents as much as the mini horses are humble animals that calm and if properly trained, are very manageable and no-fuss animals.

A miniature horse is a loving companion and has an overall friendly demeanor which makes them ideal for family pets. Moreover, you can train your mini horse, e.g to guide people around, especially the elderly; to delay emission; to participate in competitions, etc.

Many prefer a dog, a vat or some other animals, but if you are living in the countryside then you should consider a mini horse as your emotional support animal, especially if you love horses and feel calm and anxiety-free around them. The emotional support animal letter will then help you in your travels to the cities, where you can take your mini horse and keep it at home, taking the horse on walks in a park.
