    These are just long. The pic indicates that the pins are only 11 mm long. Some people are looking for the 15 mm pins which (another) site has as P/N RS1-08-G-.561-A11596. So maybe just call these "long" or call the longer ones "ultra long"?

    I've been looking for a source for these little guys. If you look at the overall cost for a 2x16 stackable 0.1" at other sites you can make one (2x16) with just 4 of these guys. Even at $2 for 4, you can't beat the price. With a small file and some sandpaper you can make whatever size you need (1x, 2x, 3x, etc). The skys the limit especially when you use your imagination. It would be nice if you could lower the price though. I'm assuming you guys had to buy at least 1000 from the MFG : )?

      I went to Samtec for a custom set of 9-pin stackables, the part code I ended up using from Samtec is ESQ-109-14-G-S. The pins are long enough to give me 3/8" to 1/2" clearance of the board below. Just enough clearance for a socketed chip.

    I don't know, maybe it's just me- but I'd like to use these in other projects with other pin counts. What about stackable headers with 10, 20, and 40 pins? They're a bear to find in DigiKey and Mouser- part numbers given by ladyada are obsolete, etc. Thanks!

      I was hoping for a longer option too (12-pin in my case). However, the extra-long male breakaway headers should do fine as a workaround.

      This company in Germany makes a wide selection of single- and double- rows:

      The height of the header is 7mm as opposed to the 8.5mm you get from these 1x8 and 1x6s offered here, and I'm having a bit of trouble finding an American distributor that has their products on the shelf. You probably have to visit the distributor's website and request a quote.

      The company that makes these only appears to make up to 1x8 and 2x8 or so, with the exception of 2x18. To buy directly from them you need to get 1000 each.
      You'll cry if you find out how much these get marked-up, so don't ask.
