It looks like this switch has the same footprint as the one with the the ~2mm button. They are under TAC_SWITCH in the library. It would be nice if there were more SFE product numbers in the descriptions.

It is not out of the question to create a prototype audio outputting circuit that does not require the user to adjust the volume. But, you are correct, this is probably not a part that you would use on a production device unless that device needs to be factory tuned.

I agree. Even if you do want logarithmic control, you can do it programmatically as the Arduino math library has the log() function.
