Toggle Switch and Cover - Illuminated (Blue)
This simple on-off switch is rated for 20A at 12V but who cares about all that, it looks way awesome. These toggle switches come with those missile switch covers that make your project look like something out of a spy movie. They're also a great safety feature to ensure that you don't accidentally fire the missiles (or whatever it is your switch does). As if you needed any more convincing, they're also illuminated with a small LED in the end of the switch. These can be panel mounted into a 12mm hole.

Is the LED powered independently? I want to use this switch for a data connection, so the LED will not be able to draw power from it.
You'll probably want to read Spindown's comment in the red version's comment thread - looks like that has some good details :)
Could we get a picture of them in the dark, lit up (same for the other colors as well)? thanks
I put the picture URL below, but it doesn't do them justice, they look awesome! Also, if you just hook up power and ground, the LED automatically lights up, the video kind of implied that the other tab is needed to power it, but it will turn on automatically. In fact, the "light" tab works great as a signal to a microcontroller input pin.

Hi I want to put these in my 98 jeep cherokee sport, I’m thinking about switching out my rear defrost, rear wipers, and my fog lights for these switches. I need more help trying to figure out if they will fit or if they won’t, so can anyone help me, also I need to know how I to wire them up, if I get them?
I take it the LED is the same color as the cover for this series of switches?
Is the LED always on? or just when switch is HIGH
usually they will only light up in the on, thats my experience buy switches like this, but as for this product i'm unsure. contact sparkfun customer support. i'm sure they can help.
