Until we have converted all our hubs, chargers, and ports over to USB-C this is the cable you're going to need for basic USB 2.0 connections. This cable is much thinner and flexible than its 3.1 counterpart and is perfect for USB to serial applications as well as for direct connection to basic microcontrollers.

This cable does not appear to support recharging a device via USB. It does allow transfer of data from an android phone to a desktop or laptop. But it will not recharge my RTK Surveyor or android phone from the USB port on my desktop. Other USB A to C cables do this.
