Here are MANY of the components that we are gonna need for our projects: ATtiny85 (These are the 8-pin microcontroler chips that run Arduino code) ATtiny84 (These are 14 Pin microcontroler chips incase we need more than 8-pins for an Arduino project) Hall Effect Sensors measure magnetic flux (albeit only in 1-axis) Example: http://goo.gl/43CKo2 555 Timers (Made in 1971{the year Fear and Lothing took place in!} 555 timers are THE most useful chip of all! Google it!) Op-Amps (Made in 1968, second most useful chip! Handy for audio/video/sensor preamplifiers,voltage comparson, etc) 8-Bit Shift Register (This would let you control 8pins by sending 8 bits [like 00101101] thru a single pin DigitalOnly,noPWM!) TRIAC (This will allow you to control 120VAC with a microcontroler's PWM output! Often used in dimmer switches) Zener Diode - 5.1V 1W (These are diodes that conduct at 5.1V...basically they are simple voltage regulators) TL431 - Voltage Reference (Programable via 2 resistors from 2.5-36V reference voltage...another MUST-HAVE!)
