Nature assumes the role of John Bartram in this interactive sound collage. How would a solitary tree choose to catalogue its experience with us? Talk, sing, hum and make your presence known; hear how the tree responds.

A microphone mounted against a tree receives input, which is then sent to a computer, recorded and translated into audio output from eight speakers hanging from the branches of the tree. To keep nature untouched, and because smaller trees are generally more fragile, the specimen we've chosen is quite tall. In order to suspend our eight, USB-powered speakers from its branches while keeping the computer at ground level, extension cables are necessary for our installation.
