Chain - Delrin (0.25" x 12")

These plastic chains come in 1ft lengths preassembled with 48 individual and snapable bits, they have a tensile strength of 55 lbs, and 0.25” tooth spacing.

Actobotics is a robotics building system based around extruded aluminum channels, gears, precision shafts, and ball bearings. Thanks to the two standardized hole patterns, nearly all Actobotics components can be intuitively connected together. The wide range of components makes building complex electromechanical prototypes or finished projects a reality.

  • You guys haven't had any issues with the chain being stiff? Most of my links do not pivot freely, which makes it completely useless for my project. Is this just a bad batch or something?

  • Just wanted add, we love this chain. It's easy to add and remove links as you change lengths, and the chain is surprisingly strong despite being plastic.

    It's also good to know that this chain is completely compatible with ANSI 25 sprockets, so if you're trying to integrate with industrial hardware, it works great. We use it for the position encoder on our hoists.

    • so this is ANSI 25 chain? I need to know exactly what type of chain this is. I need to get around 50 feet of this type of chain in steel for a project I'm working on. I'm going to convert my garage into a huge 3d printer and want to use the chain as my drive rail, mounted to the main support beams, with the x axis steppers running on top of this. The chain will be stationary with supports every foot. I can't afford to buy 50 1 foot sections here, unfortunately.

    • They also make ridiculously fun things-to-play-with at your desk if you got a sample from a vendor your company was vetting ... :-p

Doesn't move freely

This is a low-quality product that has proven unusable for my project. The connections rarely pivot freely, and in many cases are extremely stiff. I find that a loop will only hold the correct shape as it moves if you hold it very taut with a strong (metal) structural brace. That, in turn, requires a relatively powerful motor to drive just the chain, regardless of the load being moved. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

Works great

Have used in multiple projects that have been used over the past couple of years, once assembled and adjusted have functioned flawlessly.
