Break Away Headers - Right Angle 3x40

Here we have some right-angle headers with 40x3 pins. They are break away and will take a bit of effort to break this beast where you need it to break. That being said, if you need a big header like this, it's easy enough to break it where you need. The pins are spaced at 0.1" and there are 3 rows of 40 pins.

These work well in the UAV boards listed below.

Try the xacto heated. I couldn't get an even break otherwise.

Where can I find an EAGLE footprint for this?

Check the "pinhead" library which is included with Eagle.

there are no headers that are 3 wide or 40 long in that library

You're right, my bad. From checking a few schematics, people that use these for servo connections will line up three 1 by X footprints, which works well since you'll use two of the rows for ground and power anyway. And there are no 40-long footprints because you'll typically cut these to shorter lengths. However if you really need a 40x3 footprint, it's not difficult to make new library parts yourself.

I use a lighter to heat up an old xacto (well a snap type utility blade) and it cuts through like butter. Works on the female type too.

I've always used a small pair of dikes (Diagonal cutting pliers) or a knife blade for splitting these. I've never tried actually breaking them with my hands...

Great for my RC needs

I purchased these along with a row of doubles and singles to replace the vertical pins on a mini kk2 flight control board. That worked out and I continuously find uses like leds, and even soldered directly to solder pads to keep my connections nice and neat. Shipping was fast to Ontario Canada
