This is the Logitech C270 Webcam. With a sleek compact look and a black finish, this is not just for looks. This economical choice provides a 720p/30FPS HD resolution in a 16:9 widescreen format. The Logitech C270 webcam is compatible with most major messaging applications like Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and more, giving you a wide selection of use.
Fluid Crystal technology provides smoother videos, sharper pictures, richer colors and clearer sound in real-world conditions. With the automatic light correction, even if you make a video call in dim or poorly backlit settings, the camera will intuitively adjust to produce the best possible image.
The built-in noise-reducing mic makes sure your voice comes across clearly, even if you're in busy surroundings. This flexible webcam comes with a universal clip for mounting so you can either attach it securely to your screen or sit it on a shelf.
If it requires power, you need to know how much, what all the pins do, and how to hook it up. You may need to reference datasheets, schematics, and know the ins and outs of electronics.
Skill Level: Noob - You don't need to reference a datasheet, but you will need to know basic power requirements.

We're doing more remote conferencing now and wanted something that could be easily detached when not needed for security/privacy reasons. This little camera does the job and does not botch the color / lighting. The audio works well.
Note that the Ligitech software does keep a boot and usage log with minimal information in your user account temp directory.
Recommended for simple web A/V use!
Small, simple to set up.
Camera works great. Delivery was quick. No complaints at all. Would buy from SparkFun again.
It's been increasingly obvious to me that I was going to have to get a webcam for job search and networking purposes. The next problem was finding something with halfway decent ratings that didn't cost a lot. The C270 fits the bill. Despite the pictorial instructions enclosed with the camera, it did not come with a software CD. But I got the latest stuff from the Logitech website, which was probably better, anyway. It still took playing around with the camera and microphone settings on my computer to get it to work, but now it does. I have no complaints about this camera. Unfortunately, when I used it for the first time in a Zoom meeting, it became apparent just how slow the wifi is where I live! I would recommend a broadband connection. 15 Mbps wasn't enough.
