Product Overview
The WS2812 (often referred to as a "NeoPixel") has become the standard for addressable LED projects and development board indicator lights. While it may look like a common 5050-sized (5mm x 5mm) SMD LED, it's far more advanced. Housed inside the tiny package is an integrated control circuit, making every single LED individually addressable.
This is the WS2812B variant, the popular 4-pin version (Vcc, GND, Data In, Data Out) that improved upon the older 6-pin models, simplifying PCB layout and hand-soldering.
16.8 Million Colors, One Data Pin
The magic of the WS2812B is its one-wire serial control. The integrated chip allows you to set the brightness for each of the red, green, and blue channels to one of 256 different levels (8-bit color depth). This results in 16,777,216 (256³) possible color combinations for each LED, allowing you to create stunning, dynamic, and complex lighting effects—from brilliant white to black (off), and every shade in between.
For Large-Scale Production
This product is not a small strip or a 10-pack; it is a full, uncut reel containing 1,000 WS2812B LEDs. This bulk packaging is the perfect, most economical solution for:
- Large-scale production runs
- Manufacturing custom LED matrices or strips
- Big art installations
- Stocking a makerspace or university lab
If your project requires a significant number of "NeoPixels," this is the bulk-quantity reel you need.
