The SparkFun Triple Axis Accelerometer Breakout is a three-axis motion sensor based on Analog Devices' ADXL335 MEMS accelerometer. Whether you want to measure joint movement, detect inclination, or sense vibration, this board provides a simple analog solution for your wearable electronics. The board comes fully assembled and tested with external components installed. The included 0.1uF capacitors set each axis's bandwidth to 50Hz.
The ADXL335 outputs a distinct 0V to 3V analog signal for the X, Y, and Z axes. While you can easily use these raw signals for basic motion sensing, calculating a true tilt angle requires converting the analog voltage to a gravity measurement and applying some basic trigonometry.
