This sealed digital temperature probe allows you to precisely measure temperatures in wet or harsh environments where a standard sensor would fail. The high-precision DS18B20 is encapsulated in a stainless steel tube, protecting it from moisture and corrosion. Because the output is digital, you get accurate readings even over long distances without the signal degradation common in analog thermistors.
The probe utilizes the 1-Wire interface, which means it requires only a single digital pin (with a ground) to communicate with your microcontroller. Each sensor has a unique 64-bit serial code burned in at the factory, allowing you to daisy-chain multiple sensors to the same data wire.
Wiring and Specifications
The probe handles a wide temperature range of -55°C to +125°C with ±0.5°C accuracy (over the common range of -10°C to +85°C). It provides configurable 9 to 12-bit readings, allowing you to balance speed vs. resolution.
The probe comes pre-wired with a 6-foot (1.8m) cable, giving you plenty of reach for aquariums, brewing rigs, or outdoor weather stations.
