Product Overview
u-blox NINA-B40 Series Stand-alone Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) Modules are small devices that feature Bluetooth 5.1 that are particularly suited for harsh professional environments. Additionally, the modules support NFC and IEEE 802.15.4 with Thread and Zigbee. These modules are designed based on the Nordic Semiconductor nRF52833 chip that includes an integrated RF core and powerful Arm® Cortex®-M4 with an FPU processor. The NINA-B40 modules support the Bluetooth 5.1 direction finding service with the help of Angle of Arrival (AoA) and Angle of Departure (AoD) transceivers. These NINA-B40 BLE modules operate at -40°C to 105°C temperature range and 1.7V to 3.6V on a single supply voltage range. This supply voltage can be used as an I/O reference level as well as can be easily integrated into simple and single voltage rail systems. The NINA-B1 modules feature M4F MCU, 128kB RAM, 512kB flash, Bluetooth mesh, and 20 maximum Bluetooth connections.
The NINA-B406 comes with an internal PCB antenna while NINA-B400 comes with a U.FL connector for use with an external antenna of choice. This internal PCB antenna provides a robust low profile solution with high performance and an extensive range. These NINA-B40 modules are globally certified for use with the internal antenna or a range of external antennas. This greatly reduces time, cost, and effort for integrating Bluetooth low energy in their designs. The NINA-B40 BLE modules support UART, SPI, PDM and PWM, I2C, I2S, GPIO pins, and AD converters interfaces. These modules can be used for indoor positioning, wayfinding, and the tracking of assets.
