This simple adapter cable is the key to unlocking the powerful USB host capabilities of your Teensy 4.1 or Teensy 3.6. It converts the 5-pin header on the bottom of the Teensy into a standard female USB Type-A port, allowing you to connect a wide range of peripherals directly to your microcontroller.
With this cable, your Teensy can act as a USB host, allowing you to connect peripherals like keyboards, mice, MIDI controllers, and USB hubs directly to your project. The overall length is approximately 8 inches (20 cm), with the flexible cable portion measuring about 5.5 inches (14 cm).
Installation & Compatibility
This cable is specifically designed to mate with a 5-pin header (not included) soldered to the dedicated USB host pads on a Teensy 4.1 or Teensy 3.6.
This cable is NOT compatible with the Teensy 3.5, 3.2, or 3.1. While the Teensy 4.0 does have USB host capability, its pads are in a different location, and this cable does not mate with it. This adapter is only for the Teensy 4.1 and 3.6.
Note: Basic soldering is required to use this cable.
