SparkFun and Silicon Labs initiated a strategic relationship in 2022/23 with the launch of the SparkFun Thing Plus Matter - MGM240P board, the first easily accessible board that combines Matter and SparkFun's Qwiic ecosystem for agile development and prototyping of Matter-based IoT devices. The board features the MGM240P wireless module from Silicon Labs. Following this launch, the companies have consistently co-developed content and, with the help of Arduino, released a user-friendly Arduino library tailored for the Matter protocol, alongside the Arduino core for SiLabs microcontrollers. Ultimately, every part of this collaboration is designed to lower the barrier of entry for developers wanting to use Matter.
