The RTL-SDR Blog V4 is an upgraded version of the popular software-defined radio (SDR) dongle, offering improved performance and additional features over the V3 model. Key features of the V4 include the use of the R828D tuner chip, which provides enhanced frequency stability and lower power consumption compared to the R820T2 used in the V3. It also features a built-in low-noise amplifier (LNA), improved thermal design for better heat dissipation, and optimized filtering to reduce interference. Unlike the V3, the V4 no longer supports direct sampling mode for HF signals, relying instead on upconversion or external solutions for HF reception. The V4 model maintains compatibility with popular SDR software and is ideal for applications such as radio scanning, ADS-B reception, and general signal monitoring.
