Description: This is a high quality switching ‘wall wart’ AC to DC 5V 2000mA USB Micro-B wall power supply manufactured specifically for SparkFun Electronics. These are switch mode power supplies which mean the output is regulated to 5V and the capable output current is much higher (2000mA).
These wall adapters are perfect for supplying power to many single-board computers like the pcDuino or the Raspberry Pi. Please note, this specific supply (5V/2A) is also FCC/CE certified and works with 100-240VAC inputs.
Note: These wall adapter power supplies may only output 4.5V when pulling a full 2A. Please keep this in mind when making your purchase.

I’ve been running this supply for about 48 hours now, and the only issue I’ve found is that it is emitting a high-pitched whine. I’m assuming this is just some switcher noise, and won’t be an issue. I’ll update if the supply flames out, but so far it’s doing great!
The 2A powers my Model 2 Pi with enough margin to power the Wifi, mouse, and keyboard.
Just what I needed and not a nothing more for a very good price. Lots of package deals out there but all I needed was the power supply (wall wart). They got it to me very quickly. Very good deal. I will be ordering a camera and a couple other goodies here too.
Some of these have the polarity/color of the cables reversed! If you cut the cable to use them directly as 5V power source without USB plug, be very careful!! I just burned quite some charge controllers until I found this out (remote place, no multimeter). Why on earth would someone have red negative and black positive??
This power block is powering a Pi just fine. It appears to keep the Pi stable and continuously operational.
The first one made an annoying high pitch whine. Sparkfun sent me a new one and the second one did not work.
I’d rather pay more to get a power supply that doesn’t drive everybody in my house nuts.

I plugged this into a Raspberry Pi B+ soon after I received it, and it worked fine.
A couple weeks later, I plugged it in again. No light, no power. Tried several outlets that I know work. Still no light, no power.
I tried a Belkin 5v 2.1A USB power supply with a micro USB cable. That is working great.
So I’m puzzled as to why the supply isn’t working, when it worked out of the box.
Simple and easy to use. Compact, has enough capacity to power my board and its accessories.
Works as advertised, powers my Raspberry Pi without any issues.
Bought two of these for my two Raspberry Pi 2s. They work well with no issues. One of these powers both my Raspberry Pi 2 and the 7" touchscreen for the Raspberry Pi A touchscren I also purchased here on Sparkfun.
This product exactly matches the description. Works just fine.
Worked first time with my Raspberry Pi 2B John
