Product Post!

Another week, another round of new products.

Everyone is still a bit dazed from the trip to Maker Faire in New York, but that doesn't stop us from releasing some more new products. As always, we have revisions of old products and entirely new products. Let's have a look at what we have this week!

If you didn't hear from last week, we have the Arduino holder in stock. They are going quickly, but we have more on order. They are also now included in the SparkFun Inventor's Kit. We will be coming out with a new inventor's kit that includes the new Uno as soon as we get enough stock. But for now, we're just happy that the baseplate is here!

We now have a breakout for the ATmega128RFA1. We break out all the pins from the IC, give you a chip antenna, and it has a regulator. The ATmega128RFA1 has a built-in 2.4GHz RF transceiver along with other goodies right on the chip. It seems to be a very promising platform! Want more info? Feel free to dive into the 524 page datasheet.

Here we have the LilyPad Simple. Basically, it's a LilyPad328, but with less pins broken out and a JST connector for power. It makes things a little simpler if you don't need all the extra connections.

We also have a very simple coin cell battery holder for the LilyPad. It allows you to power your project with a standard 20mm coin cell battery. Now you don't have to worry about relatively bulky AAAs.

And lastly (as far as the LilyPad family in this post) we have multi-colored LEDs! We have them in 4 new colors - red, blue, green, and yellow. We are also packaging them in packs of 5 with a new lower price. These are the same make-up as the standard white LEDs we've been selling. Soon we will be selling the white in 5 packs as well.

We have a new version of the USB host shield. The older version swapped the GPS and RESET pins, making you modify the library. It was a hassle. The new version is fixed and works without having to modify the library!

Speaking of second tries, check out the new version of the Danger Shield. The new version fixes an issue with the temperature sensor by replacing it with the TMP36. The shield comes as a kit, so you'll need some basic soldering skills. But when you're done, you'll be left with an awesome shield that can be used in dozens - nay! - hundreds of projects.

The people who brought you the FEZ Domino have a new offering, the FEZ Panda. If you're familiar with .NET framework, this may be the right controller for you. With a lower price and a huge host of features, it's a pretty nice piece of hardware. It seems that the .NET platform is growing in popularity!

We also have a revision of the XMOS XS1-L1-64 Development Board. We have done away with the UART section to make things a bit easier to use and a little bit cheaper. We're hoping the new rev of this board is much more user-friendly!

We are creatures of habit. That's exactly why I'm posting this next product. It's out of stock. It was out of stock almost from the minute I listed it live on the website. You cannot buy it, but you can backorder it. The MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad is very popular. We got a small shipment of them, but they quickly went out of stock. We have more on order, but these have been notoriously hard to get. We're sorry!

And lastly, the Lantronix XPort connector has changed and our new breakout board now works with the new revision. Now the connector lines up with the board. If you're not familiar with the Lantronix XPort, check it out.

That's all this week! Happy inventing!
