The Open House is Coming!

It's officially less than two weeks until the SparkFun Open House - and we want you there! We are inviting everyone and anyone to head to SparkFun headquarters for an awesome day of camaraderie, food, and fun. And since we know you all like Rob and Dave shenanigans, check out the video:

We are going to have a bunch of fun stuff like bouncy castles, an obstacle course (apparently the largest inflatable obstacle course in Colorado), workshops, tours, free food, and a bunch of cool swag giveaways! And yeah, no petting zoo (watch the video if you don't get it). If you are planning on attending, please register at our EventBrite page. Hope to see you there!

  • Wow Dave! Hawt much?
Not to say that Rob and many of the other men of Sparkfun (you guys should do a calendar for charity) are slouches either.
Wish I could be there (and no, not just to make you feel uncomfortable). You guys are doing and enabling such cool stuff every day. I saw a up and coming bike racer yesterday who showed me his peleton training device that warned him when he was getting out of the drafting envelope or too close to the rider’s wheel in front. It also recorded the GPS coordinates with that data so he could see if he had consistent issues with certain terrain. He said training with it had improved his peleton confidence and performance immensely! It had SparkFun logo’s all over it!

  • Don’t worry Dave, Your time will come!
    Patience is virtue.

  • It would be great if you could come to Perú… (South America), considering we are now the gastronomic country, food it’s grat… and we have one of the modern wornders machu pichu… would be nice to see you here soon..
We are having a local CON called LimaHack (www.limahack.com), it will be 5th of Nov, I know its too soon to make something with you this year, but maybe next year you could be here with us… this time, I will be talking about Arduino 101, to make people get interested in this kind of stuff… soon you will hear of us…
Good to read you, and you’ve got great stuff…
Anyway, nice idea the Open House, maybe some time…
Would be great a Sparkfun Peruvian Office ;)

  • How about having a robot going around and live streaming video of the open house? It would be nice for people 6000-8000Km away. :)

  • I was hoping that Dave had some cool water bucket dumper that would have got Rob all wet using an Arduino, two Xbees (for communication), and some bucket trigger device using a servo or the Robotic Claw Pan/Tilt Bracket with a Servo that lets the bucket dump over Rob a he walks by. (Don’t you feel the love?)
My second choice would be the electric office chair- This is after all October and Halloween.
All you would need is a way to trigger a spark coil hooked up to some of that electrical thread sewn into seat of his chair. I have seen a great scat mat that has all the working for the shocking part; you just need a way to supply 9 Volts and a way of triggering it.
(I did this back in College with an old ford spark coil, 12 volt power supply and hooked it up to a old unused church pew with two 12 gauge wire running across the seat of the pew. Made for a great electric pew. Talk about an Automatic Wave Machine. People were just jumping for Joy to sit on it during our Halloween party. You could always use a Electric Pew at the Sparkfun Party… It defiantly would give a new meaning to Sparkfun.)

  • I’m flying to Denver this week for a different event…wish I could stay for this!

  • :(
    I Hope but NO! way.

  • Open source logo inside a house! haha Classic

  • Arrrrr! Working late that day! :(

  • Love to fly out (DEN) and back (DFW) but the cheapest airfare is about $250, that could buy a lot of SF goodies!

  • Awesome. Can’t make it due to the distance, but yay for you anyway.

  • Never mind Open House, you guys should do a UK tour :P

  • Forget the open house, what about video of the Viking funeral?

  • The whole Open House thing wasn’t really an attemped shennanigan, right?

    • The Open House is very real. The video antics above are just a little scripted fun to promote the event.
Our doors will be open to the public October 22nd, 2011, from 11am - 4pm. We’d love to see you there!

  • I wish I lived in the USA.
