Actobotics Stairclimber Challenge Winners!

We're excited to announce the winners of the SparkFun Actobotics Stairclimber Challenge!

Favorited Favorite 1

Back at the end of January, we announced the Actobotics Stairclimber Challenge. We received a bunch of great entries, but ultimately had to pick a select few to take home the loot. Here they are, in all their glory!

First place ($500 SparkFun Credit): The Jaeger Family

Second place ($250 SparkFun Credit): Chris Begley

Third place ($100 SparkFun Credit): Chad Giddings

Honorable mention: Robert Paradiso

Thank you to everyone who participated and congratulations to the winners -- and great work on the 'bots!

  • 2 points for mentioning American Science and Surplus. :)

  • I like the simplicity of Robert Paradiso's. It also looks like what I imagine a legless android zombie would look like trying to get up the stairs (possibly to eat your computer's processor).

    Good job everyone!

  • I like the design of Pokey, but why is it so slow?

  • I think the stair bear is great and absolutely deserved the win (atleast out of the 4 posted). I love the custom wheels cut out of foam for climbing the stairs: simple and effective. Great idea and well executed. I also enjoyed Robert Paradiso's bot. Keep it simple, I love it.

  • Congratz to the winners! I hope vNext of this competition is not during the FIRST FRC robotics season, and I'll put in a submission.

  • Great job on behalf of the contestants!

    How many entries were there?

  • Pokey is fantastic. Nice work!
