The MicroMod RP2040 Processor is now shipping! With it, we also have the new version of the Arduino Engineering Kit and the new SenseHAT for Raspberry Pi.
Welcome back, everyone! We're here again with more new products, and the announcement that our first SparkFun RP2040 boards are now shipping! After a little more than a month in pre-order, the SparkFun MicroMod RP2040 Processor being sent out to those who reserved it (don't worry about the Pro Micro and Thing Plus versions, those will be going out very soon, too). Following that, we will take a look at the new version of Arduino's popular Engineering Kit. Last up this week, we'll focus on the new SenseHAT. Now, let's jump in and explore all of our new products!
The SparkFun MicroMod Pi RP2040 Processor is a low-cost, high-performance board with flexible digital interfaces featuring the Raspberry Pi Foundation's RP2040 microcontroller. With the MicroMod M.2 connector, connecting your MicroMod Pi RP2040 Processor Board is a breeze. Simply match up the key on your processor's beveled edge connector to the key on the M.2 connector and secure it with a screw (included with all Carrier Boards).
The Arduino Engineering Kit Rev 2 provides extensive learning outcomes, giving students a strong understanding of basic engineering concepts through fun projects that create a collaborative learning environment. Students are able to connect what they learn with real-world industries, and are encouraged to think critically and improve their depth of knowledge by learning through experimentation. Ideal for advanced high school and college students.
The Raspberry Pi Sense HAT is an add-on board for Raspberry Pi, made especially for the Astro Pi mission which launched to the International Space Station in December 2015 and is now available to buy. It features a multitude of inputs and outputs for reading and interacting with the Sense HAT's sensors and the Raspberry Pi.
That's it for this week! As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made! Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we'll see you next week with even more new products!
Interesting coincidence is that this morning I got an e-mail that Solarbotics is now carrying some SparkFun Qwiic products! (A word of warning, though: Solarbotics is a Canadian company, so if if you're American, check with your credit card company first to make sure they don't ding you with a charge for "foreign transaction fee". I learned the hard way to be careful about which credit card to use.)
