SparkX is back with a new NFC/RFID Tag, the FLIR Lepton Breakout V2 is now available on its own, and we have a new and better way to remove a U.FL-terminated cable.
Hello and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This week, we are finishing up our preparations for Dumpster Dive next week, so SparkX has released their newest prototype to check out! The Qwiic Dynamic NFC/RFID Tag is a unique, new addition to our wireless identification ecosystem and we hope you like it as much as we do! Following that, we are now offering the FLIR Lepton Breakout V2 on its own (without the actual Lepton module) as well as a newer and more economical U.FL tool. Let's jump in and take a closer look at all of our new products for the week!
The STMicroelectronics ST25DV dynamic Near Frequency Communication / Radio Frequency Identification tag ICs are awesome and the Qwiic Dynamic NFC/RFID Tag helps you utilize them! The ST25DV64KC offers 64-kBit (8-kBytes) of EEPROM memory which can be accessed over both I2C and RF (NFC)! It's a state-of-the-art tag which conforms to ISO/IEC 15693 or NFC Forum Type 5 recommendations. You can read and write the tag's memory using NFC even while the tag is powered down or disconnected.
The FLIR Lepton® Thermal Camera Breakout Board is an easy-to-interface evaluation board used to quickly connect the FLIR Lepton camera module to common platforms like Raspberry Pi or custom hardware. It provides onboard power supplies, generated from 3 – 5.5V, and a master clock. Local power supplies, the master clock, and the power-up sequence components can all be bypassed using a jumper.
Are you having issues disconnecting your U.FL connectors from each other? Now you can ease the disconnection process with this handy little extraction tool. We have started to use this in our internal testing and we think you'll like it too!
That's it for this week. As always, we can't wait to see what you make. Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we'll see you next week with even more new products!
